The emblem and slogan of the Asian Youth Games 2013 was unveiled on March 21 by the host city, Nanjing of east China's Jiangsu province, together with the launch of the games’ official website. The emblem is in the likeness of the Chinese character “Ning” (shortened name for “Nanjing”) in the sunshine, which incorporates such elements as a distant mountain, running water, ancient city walls and green tree leaves representing sports figures in calligraphy styles to symbolize the special features of Nanjing in terms of “mountain, water, city and forest”.
