The mascot for the 2013 2nd Asian Youth Games was unveiled in Nanjing on Oct 31 night.

The mascot, called Yuan Yuan, is based on the image of Eosimias sinensis, the earliest higher primate to date found in Jiangsu.

The mascot also combines the elements of a bright red sun in the symbol of Olympic Council of Asia and Yuhua pebbles representing Nanjing. It delivers a warm welcome to guests from participating countries and best wishes to the Games from the host city.

Wang Jialing, 22, a senior student from Taiwan studying at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, was the designer of the mascot.
